🌳 All timber used in our gates comes from FSC certified forests. These are managed forests where more trees are planted than are felled.
♻️ The timber used to make your gate is always replaced. Since 1990 in Europe, the forestry estate is grown by the equivalent of 1500 football pitches per day!
🍃 Before trees are turned into gates they take carbon from the air and produce oxygen—this is known as the 'carbon sink'. When the timber is then used to make your gate—this is known as the 'carbon store'. So your gate is actually storing carbon that has been taken from the environment.
🪵 Timber is a hugely sustainable material! It takes 7 times more energy to produce steel than timber, and it takes 4 times more energy to produce cement. So when you choose timber as a material you are really showing the planet some love!
